FUNCAP is our grant FUNding CAPacity development program for non-profits working in international cooperation. It concentrates on the grant funding process, encompassing all the essential steps required to secure grants from various sources such as foundations, government donors, corporations, UN agencies, funds, or alike.

It equips non-profits with the skills and resources needed for grant fundraising by providing (1) training (on and offline); (2) practical and easy-to-use tools (Word, Power Point and Excel templates); as well as (3) individual coaching (personalised one-to-one coaching on specific work packages throughout the entire grant cycle).

Module 3: Solicitation

This is the third step in the grant funding cycle. It is all about writing a compact, concise and compelling application that will convince the funder. Next to practicing proposal writing skills, you will also gain skills in effectively demonstrating the impact you plan to achieve.

What is included in this module?

This module includes: (1) a 4-hour online training for your team via Zoom; and (2) 5 coaching days during which we improve your application documents including storytelling elements and appealing visuals to demonstrate your problem, solution and impact.

What is the concrete output?

We will support you with proposal design and writing, as well as a review from the perspective of the funder. Additionally, we offer feedback on budgeting, including advice on incorporating staff costs if the budget allows. If desired, it can also include the creation of a generic proposal template containing various sections of a proposal narrative that can be customized according to your specific needs. We will also show you how you can create appealing visuals with Canva to demonstrate the problem you are tackling, the unique solution you are offering and the impact you are creating.

Numerous international donors request a Theory of Change or impact model for your project or program to illustrate the impact you aim to create and contribute to. We will also assist you in developing and graphically designing this model, enabling you to utilize it for your website and other communication materials.

Finally, numerous donors, particularly large institutional ones, mandate that your organisation registers on their platforms (such as PADOR with the European Commission or grants.gov with USAID) before submitting a specific project. We aid and advise you throughout this registration process. Additionally, we can review any supporting documents you have (such as policies) and offer recommendations for improvement if needed.

What else is included?

You will be provided with practical and hands-on templates such as our FUNCAP Tool to manage your data across the whole fundraising cycle as well as a concept note and full application template, and ToC or impact model. As additional bonus, you are given a 12-months TripleFunds access for free at the value of 348€.

Module 3 of our FUNCAP program costs 5,340€ incl. 20% VAT.

Who is it suitable for?

It is intended for smaller organisations with an annual turnover of less than €1 million.
