The Empiris Foundation is an umbrella foundation based in Zurich and devoted solely to charitable purposes. The Foundation promotes science, research and education in various fields and subjects. In particular the Foundation promotes charitable projects in various branches of the sciences through contributions to research projects or programs in education and training. The Foundation has bestowed the Empiris Award for Research in Brain Diseases since 2006. The Foundation is also involved in the field of medicine and the practical application of research findings.

4) Application Procedure
Only tax-exempt charitable institutions are eligible for grant support. Application forms can be downloaded from the Foundation’s website (i.e. project description, budget and Logical Framework Matrix). The project description should not be more than 15 A4 pages in length. Applications may be submitted on a rolling basis throughout the year. Completed applications must be submitted via e-mail (see contact details below). Funding requests received by the Empiris Foundation are addressed on an ongoing basis. Grants committees generally meet one to three times a year. The Board of Trustees decides on project applications twice a year (spring and autumn).
