Description
1) About
The King Hamad Youth Empowerment Award comes as an initiative from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as the first award of its kind that is open to all member states. This initiative aims to empower young people and give them the attention, encouragement and motivation needed. It encourages all eligible participants to improve the enabling environment and infrastructure for youth to allow them to be effective and productive citizens contributing to their communities. This award will be awarded in four different categories; governments, private sector, non-profit organisations and individuals. All of the applicants except for the government sector must be accredited and recognised by the concerned member state, which they are applying from.

Eligible to apply are governments, NGOs, private companies and individuals from across the globe.
4) Application Procedure
There is an annual application window open for submissions. Eligible to apply are governments, NGOs/international organisations, private companies, and individuals. Each of these categories undergoes a different application process. For the categories NGOs and individuals, the awardee will receive a $25,000 grant, a certificate of recognition and a trophy. All applications are done online through the official online platform for the King Hamad Youth Empowerment Award. The UNDP in cooperation with other UN agencies will select the Jury for this award.
