1) About

The Nando Peretti Foundation was founded in 2000 as a philanthropic Foundation, at the initiative of Elsa Peretti. Over the past 15 years, the Foundation has awarded grants to over 852 projects, for an overall estimated value of more than €42,000,000. Initially, the Foundation’s mission was characterized by two major commitments: an emphasis on environment and wildlife conservation, and a focus on humanitarian and charity programs, with a particular attention to first-aid interventions for relieving poverty and suffering. Over the years, the areas and the range of activities funded by the Foundation’s grants have been significantly expanded to match the widening of the overall philanthropic vision of the Foundation. Today, the Foundation provides grants to projects which fall into one of the following areas: charity, educational, environmental conservation, medical research, construction (i.e. construction of entire hospitals) and culture/arts. Particular attention is paid to the immediate intervention programs for those who live in situations of extreme economic and social hardship.

The Foundation has a worldwide focus and has yet funded projects in 79 different countries around the world.

4) Application Procedure

In order to submit a project proposals to the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation, applicants must first register their organisation via the Foundation’s online registration form. Once completed, the applicant will receive access credentials to submit project proposals, which will only be accepted for a period of 15 days after the organisation’s initial registration has been confirmed. Project proposals may be submitted via the online application section, throughout the year. The decision-making process of the Foundation can take up to six months. Therefore, applicants should plan the start date of the project activities accordingly. Average grant size is app. €50,000.
