Description
1) Objective
For 2025, IEF is interested in funding:
- Efforts to decrease human-elephant conflict;
- Habitat conservation and management;
- Conservation education and community outreach;
- Transfrontier or transboundary elephant conservation;
- Elephant protection programs including anti-poaching patrols, infra-structure development, security, investigation and prosecution;
- Reducing and preventing the ivory and bushmeat trade; and
- Research into elephant diseases.
2) Eligibility
Eligibility is limited to: International individuals and organizations are eligible as are students, scientists, and institutions. Students are required to provide faculty advisor approval; the advisor should be a co-investigator on the application and must accept the responsibility of project completion and reporting.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Africa and Asia.
4) Budget
On average IEF funds 20 to 25 projects annually. The average Grant Award is $15,000 per year.
5) Application
To be considered for funding in 2026, applicants are required to complete and submit the Online 2026 IEF Grant Application which is due 1 August 2025.
