A call to action for civil society organisations engaged in advancing media transparency and information integrity

Description

1) Objective

Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency (LuxDev) is calling for proposals from local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Kosovo under its project KSV/025 “Support to civil society in Kosovo.” This call aims to advance media transparency and information integrity by strengthening the capacities of CSOs involved in these areas. The initiative focuses on reinforcing democratic commitments towards media transparency and countering misinformation to enhance the impact of CSOs’ programs. Two main areas of intervention (LOTS) are specified for this call:

• LOT 1: Enhancing Media Transparency: This includes supporting CSOs in reinforcing their organizational capacities to promote media transparency through digital tools, technological enhancements, and public education on media content analysis.
• LOT 2: Strengthening Information Integrity: This focuses on supporting CSOs in initiatives that counter misinformation, promote factual reporting, and build trust between the public and local media. It includes technological enhancements, public awareness campaigns on information integrity, and improving CSOs’ reporting processes.

2) Eligibility

Eligible applicants are legally registered local CSOs primarily operating in Kosovo with at least five years of experience in the thematic areas of media transparency and information integrity. They must demonstrate proven experience and capacity in implementing relevant programs, as well as effective fund management. Organizations that support marginalized and vulnerable communities will be given preference.

3) Location

Actions must take place in Kosovo.

4) Budget

The total program funding for this call is €200,000, which will be distributed equally between two selected proposals, providing €100,000 to each. Proposals must adhere to this budget limitation to be considered.
