Description
1) Objective
USAU PD invites proposals for projects that strengthen ties between the United States and the African Union by highlighting shared values and promoting cooperation. Grant proposals must convey an American cultural element, support a priority program area (see below), or include a connection with American expert(s), organization(s), or institution(s) in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives. Proposals should also demonstrate how programs will make America safer, stronger and more prosperous.
As it is an APS, it covers a wide range of topics from one of the following priority areas:
- Highlighting U.S.-AU cooperation
- Countering terrorism and extremism
- Strengthening institutions
- Ensure fair economic and trade relationships
- Promoting leadership and entrepreneurship in science and technology
- Encouraging English language learning
- Advancing economic prosperity
- Journalism capacity building and/or expanding media literacy
- Spotlight on America’s achievements, innovation, and leadership
2) Eligibility
Eligible applicants are Small businesses.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Ethiopia.
4) Budget
Grants may range from $5,000-$50,000.
