Description
1) Objective
This Call for Proposals corresponds to the implementation of:
1. Specific Objective 1 of the Action ‘NaturAfrica Phase 1’ (ACT-60586): At landscape level, improve conservation, management and use of biodiversity and ecosystems’ goods and services in KLCDs for the benefit of nature and local communities and in particular women, youth and vulnerable populations (indigenous peoples and local communities – IPLCs) and specific outputs:
o 1.1 Strengthened capacity for inclusive conservation management, planning and implementation in KLCDs;
o 1.2 Enhanced access to sustainable green economy livelihoods opportunities for all community members in KLCDs;
o 1.3 Strengthened capacity for land-use governance and natural resource management in KLCDs.
2. Specific Objective 2 the Action ‘EU Alliance for the Horn of Africa Initiative 2023-2024’ (ACT-62202): Strengthen resilience of vulnerable, displacement-affected communities to crisis, including climate-induced shocks and conflict, in particular women, youth, displaced people and trapped populations and specific output:
o 2.3 Build resilient community conservancies for biodiversity conservation, livelihood improvement and peace/security.
2) Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must: (1) be a legal person and (2) be non-profit-making and (3) be a specific type of organisation such as: civil society organisation and/or their associations and (4) be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Kenya and/or Tanzania.
4) Budget
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €18,400,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum €8,80,000 and maximum €9,400,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum (55%) and maximum (95%) percentage of total eligible costs of the action.
5) Application
The concept note together with the declaration by the lead applicant must be submitted online via PROSPECT. The deadline for the submission is 28 May 2024.
