Description

1) Objective

The Center for Victims of Torture (CVT) is accepting applications for its IDREAM project, aimed at supporting human rights defenders (HRDs) living in exile. The project focuses on enhancing their resilience, advocacy effectiveness, and integrated security. By addressing challenges such as stress, trauma, and security risks, IDREAM aims to improve HRDs’ well-being and strengthen their ability to advocate for human rights. The program includes personalized capacity-building plans, online and in-person workshops, peer mentoring, and access to resources for continued support beyond the project’s duration.

2) Eligibility

Applicants must be HRDs who have been in exile for a minimum of 10 months but no longer than seven years. They should have experience in advocacy or social movements and demonstrate the ability to manage funds received during the project. Additionally, they must commit to participating in the program from March 2025 to February 2026 and be open to using new tools and collaborative approaches.

3) Location

Actions can take place worldwide.

4) Budget

Financial assistance up to USD $35,000 will be provided to partner HRDs to support their activities and participation in this project.

5) Application

Interested applicants must submit their applications online via Submittable by December 31, 2024, at 11:00 PM CST. Early submissions are encouraged to resolve any technical issues.
