Description
1) Objective
This CFEI is aimed to develop a contingency planning and partnership provision of humanitarian/emergency WASH services in north and northeastern provinces of Afghanistan. The contingency partnership require costed plan by partners for the preidentified activities under the program documents and the successful implementing partners will be required to put in place mechanism to enable timely WASH response in the region upon call by UNICEF on case by case basis.
The main objective of this contingency partnership is to ensure timely response to people in need due to onset of emergency and delivery of humanitarian WASH services to the most vulnerable people in the target areas. Specific objective: (WASH) Access of people in humanitarian need to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene facilities and services in communities and public institutions.
The expected results are:
- 1. Specific WASH need of people affected by emergency is timely identified and assessed for provision of services.
- 2. Affected people in target areas have improved access to safe drinking water, appropriate sanitation and handwashing facilities/services along with hygiene awareness.
- 3. Affected people benefit from solid/liquid waste management interventions in the targeted areas.
- 4. Affected people access to essential WASH supplies and benefit from behavior change activities in their areas.
- 5. Children and affected people in public institutions including school and healthcare facilities have access to safe drinking water, sanitation and handwashing facilities/services.
2) Eligibility
Eligibility is limited to NGOs that have country and sector experience.

Actions must take place in Afghanistan.

5) Application
The application deadline is 15 January 2024. A concept note must be submitted online via the application portal. The applications should be submitted through UNPP if not it will not be considered. CSOs wishing to participate in this Call for Expression of Interest must submit Electronic Concept Note (online) using United Nations Partner Portal (UNPP).
