Description
1) Objective
UNDP aims to strengthen the capacity of CSOs to become reliable partners in collecting, analyzing, presenting, and applying data. In this context, UNDP is launching a Call for Proposal for its ‘CSO Data Encouragement Fund’. The fund will serve as an encouragement for research only and is not meant to cover the wider organizational running costs. The fund’s objective is to produce the following end product:
– A research report based on primary data (through conducting a survey) or secondary data (available and validated data) in one of the specified research areas.
The proposals are requested to indicate their affiliation to one or more of the following areas, related to the SDG framework:
a) poverty reduction, including enhancing resilience (SDG 1)
b) decent work and economic growth, including work in specific sectors such as garments (SDG 8)
c) environment and climate action, including disaster risk reduction and natural resource management (SDG 13,14,15)
d) peace & justice, including housing land and property right and legal assistance (SDG 16)
2) Eligibility
Eligible are Myanmar CSOs that would like to improve capacity in data gathering and analysis and produce relevant, accessible and usable knowledge products.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Myanmar.
4) Budget
The budget for any grant application submitted by an applicant organization should fall within the range of up to MMK 5,000,000.
5) Application
The application should clearly indicate the subject as: “Application for Grants Support – CDEF”. Applicants must submit their proposals by email to observatory.mm@undp.org. Application deadline is 16 June 2023.
