Description
1) Objective
Since August 2005, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Cambodia has been implementing the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme in Cambodia to promote environmental protection and improve livelihood of communities.
The Small Grants Programme (SGP) works directly with local NGOs and community-based organizations (CBOs) through grants and technical assistance to promote home grown solutions that address challenges of biodiversity loss, climate change, land degradation, water resource management and management of hazardous chemicals and waste streams.
2) Eligibility
UNDP invites local NGOs, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and Indigenous Peoples’ (IPs) community groups working in the fields of natural resource management, climate change adaptation, environmental sustainability, and community livelihoods to apply for funding under the Small Grants Programme. Eligible organizations include those operating in villages, communes, districts, and provinces within the Stung Siem Reap Watershed landscape in Siem Reap Province, in other biodiversity hotspots across Cambodia, in areas with a high concentration of Indigenous Peoples, and nationwide under the STAR funding geographical areas.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Cambodia.

Grants of up to US$ 75,000 per project are available and would be distributed through a competitive evaluation by the Programme.
