Description
1) Objective
The Gavi-funded Impact grants will support CSOs operating in immunisation and vaccine delivery to increase immunisation coverage, in partnership with government and national systems in Ethiopia. The grants will be issued for projects that will engage and contribute to bringing about specific change in demand generation and service delivery. Proposals should include the following service delivery and demand generation activities (they are a requirement for all regions):
1. An annual Reaching Every Community (REC) / Reaching Every District (RED) microplanning workshop for woredas in developing and pastoralist regions, conflict-affected, hard-to-reach, urban slum and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the woredas. Digital microplanning should be implemented in conjunction with the respective government health authorities.
2. Sensitising the community health platform, such as Women’s Development Army (WDA) structures around zero-dose, routine immunisation (RI), Human Papillomavirus (HPV), vaccine- preventable disease (VPD) surveillance, and the role of male engagement, and to give special focus for the young care givers and adolescent girls by giving appropriate information about RI and HPV vaccinations in the prioritised woredas.
3. Organising and implementing periodic intensification of routine immunisation activities (PIRI) in the woredas per quarter
4. Intensified integrated outreach service in hard to reach areas in the woredas as needed and in agreement with local government health teams.
