Description
1) Objective
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka has opened a call for proposals for Transition Promotion Program (TRANS) projects to be implemented in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi in 2025. The Transition Promotion Program, established in 2005, is a democracy assistance financial instrument of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. This program aims to support democracy and human rights, using the Czech Republic’s experience with the social transition and democratization.
The Czech Republic is also one of the founding members of the Media Freedom Coalition (MFC), a community of states that proactively advocate for media freedom, the safety of journalists and media workers, and speak out against impunity for those who attack journalists or prevent them from practicing their profession. Local Transition Projects (LTP) are one of the instruments of the transition promotion program of the Czech Republic. Projects are identified by the respective Embassies of the Czech Republic (through applications submitted by potential implementers) and approved by the headquarters – Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs (CZ MFA).
2) Eligibility
Implementer of the LTP is a local subject with legal subjectivity in the country of the project implementation.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
4) Budget
The financial contribution for an LTP is from 100,000 CZK to 500,000 CZK. Co-financing from other sources is arbitrary and desirable.
5) Application
The three documents (duly filled-in identification form, proof of legal subjectivity and evidence that the person submitting the proposal is authorized to act on behalf of the organization) must be delivered to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka (4 Twin Palm Rd, Kabulonga) both as originals and as scanned copies sent to lusaka@mzv.gov.cz by 10th November 2024.
