Description
1) Objective
The Call focuses on strengthening early warning systems and disaster preparedness to ensure timely, reliable, and actionable alerts that help protect lives and livelihoods. It targets initiatives implemented in the Asia–Pacific region, with particular attention to coastal and island communities that face the highest disaster risks. Projects should adopt a multi-hazard approach, addressing interconnected risks such as tsunamis, storm surges, floods, and coastal erosion to enhance overall resilience.
Proposals should align with the modalities outlined in the Trust Fund’s Strategy, which guide implementation toward sustainable and inclusive outcomes:
- Strengthen regional cooperation in disaster and climate preparedness.
- Institutionalize and empower inclusive local action in coherence with global, regional, and national commitments.
- Mainstream science, technology, and leverage innovation, including digital and geospatial applications.
2) Eligibility
Applicants must be not-for-profit organizations and can include government institutions, international or UN entities, non-governmental or civil society organisations, or academic and research institutes.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Asia Pacific.
4) Budget
Grants range up to $250,000.
5) Application
The deadline for submitting an Expression of Interest is 19 December 2025. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit full proposals between 12 January and 20 February 2026.
