Description
1) Objective
The overall objective of this call for proposals, in line with the general objectives of the DH&D and CSO thematic programmes, is, on the one hand, to strengthen CSOs as independent actors of good governance and development that contribute to promoting and protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms, democracy and the rule of law; and on the other hand, contribute to a civil society and an inclusive, participatory, and independent democratic space that allows for an open dialogue with and between CSOs (priority 1, CSO Thematic Program 2021-2027).
The main priorities for this program in this call for proposals are:
- Priority 1: Protect and empower people;
- Priority 2: Build resilient, inclusive and democratic societies;
- Priority 4: Safeguard fundamental freedoms, including taking advantage of the opportunities and addressing the challenges of new digital technologies.
2) Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must: (1) be a legal person and (2) be non-profit-making and (3) be a civil society organisation; and (4) be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Chile.
4) Budget
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €5,200,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum €400,000 and maximum €1,500,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum (70%) and maximum (95%) percentage of total eligible costs of the action. The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 24 months nor exceed 36 months.
