Civil Society Innovation Fund 2

Description

1) Objective

CSIF Ethiopia aims to strengthen the diversification and innovation of Ethiopian civil society, to ensure a pluralistic and democratic organizational sphere, novel and creative civic activism and the defence of civic and associational rights of Ethiopian citizens.

The French Development Agency (Agence Française de Développement – AFD) has opened a call to finance Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations (CSO) to implement projects aiming at strengthening the diversification and innovation of Ethiopian civil society, to ensure a pluralistic and democratic organizational sphere, novel and creative civic activism and the defence of civic and associational rights of Ethiopian citizens.

2) Eligibility

The applicant must apply as a consortium and all consortium members: Must be registered in Ethiopia; Must work in the areas of the call i.e human rights, media, peacebuilding, democratisation and/or gender.

3) Location

Actions must take place in Ethiopia.

4) Budget

The AFD has earmarked a fund of maximum €1,600,000 to fund 3 to 5 projects, with a duration of maximum of 36 months. CSOs can apply in consortia of 2-4 members. The projects selected are expected to be between 250,000€ and 600,000€.

5) Application

The projects will be selected based on a project proposal, to be provided together with an administrative dossier and information sheets, to be submitted electronically at the latest by 9 am, Ethiopian time, on Monday July 1st.
