Description
1) Objective
The Asfari Foundation is a British grant-making charity set up by Ayman and Sawsan Asfari in 2006. Their vision is for a just world where people have equal opportunities to transform their lives, invest in their communities, and shape the future of their countries. Their mission is to invest in, and support the sustainability of, a resilient and empowered civil society infrastructure and innovative youth, who can collectively lead a transformational positive change in their communities and countries. The Foundation focuses its efforts in the Levant and UK.
This programme supports the development of entrepreneurship ecosystems in the Levant region, offering youth-driven social solutions the support needed from ideation to impact investment. It also supports the development of new lifelong learning solutions which includes IT upskilling opportunities and innovation in edtech.
2) Eligibility
Eligibility is limited to CSOs.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Lebanon, Syria, Palestine or Jordan.
4) Budget
Funding can be used for OD (up to £50K) AND you can apply for extra funding specifically for Innovation (up to £25K) in addition to the OD funding. By ‘Organisational Development’ (OD) they mean: focusing on core costs, costs associated with capacity building, training for core staff, consultants to support strengthen internal processes and procedures, new systems that supports efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of the organisation. Examples: Consultant costs where these relate to OD; Salaries of key staff, rent, and legal fees; Training and capacity development of individuals or teams within the organisation; Systems’ development (eg: fundraising, monitoring & evaluation and procurement); Development of strategy documents, policies and procedures; Communication and convening costs; Organisational learning and knowledge management.
5) Application
Concept notes must be received before 23:59 (London) on Friday 30th September 2022. They must be submitted online.
