Description
1) Objective
The German Foreign Office’s Climate Fund is focused on supporting projects that present innovative ideas and solutions related to ecological transformation, raise awareness about climate change and biodiversity loss, facilitate information transfer regarding climate and biodiversity policies and diplomacy, and stimulate action-oriented implementation at subnational and community levels. The aim is to motivate and involve all pertinent actors and stakeholders in the process.
Activities may include conferences, workshops, panel discussions, webinars, side-events, risk analysis, training courses, networking of think tanks. The focus lies on business opportunities of an ecological transformation as well as the biodiversity and climate nexus
2) Eligibility
Applicants can be from both the private and public sectors, including non-governmental multipliers from the realms of economy, science, and civil society. Applicants and implementing organizations must be based in South Africa and are expected to contribute either financially or via in-kind contributions/staff.
3) Countries
Actions must take place in South Africa.
4) Budget
The funding for projects should range between 10,000€ and 30,000€. Activities that can be covered under this budget include conferences, workshops, panel discussions, webinars, side-events, risk analysis, training courses, and think tank networking.
