Description
1) Objective
UN Women seeks to partner with two national non-profit organisation/consortium as responsible parties (RPs) to implement the proposed intervention in three provinces, namely Madhesh, Karnali and Sudurpaschim. The proposed assignment will include:
- RP A will be responsible for the objective 1:
Gender responsive and inclusive governance is promoted through i) promotion of leadership and substantive participation of elected women representatives in governance structures and processes, ii) strengthening gender-responsive and inclusive service provision capacities of duty bearers across governance institutions. - RP B will be responsible for the objective 2:
Women leaders with intersecting identities and their networks are supported i) to address the gender and disability based inequalities and ii) for demanding accountability for fulfilment of their rights
Applying agencies are encouraged to forge consortium from CSOs representing diverse and intersectional identities of women and excluded groups and operating at federal as well as provincial/local level. This initiative is the part of EU-UN joint programme titled ‘Empowered Women, Prosperous Nepal (2023-2026)” and implementation of UN Women’s five year strategic note (SN 2023-2027) funded by the Government of Finland (GoF).
2) Eligibility
In this context, UN Women seeks to partner with two national non-profit organisation/consortium to implement the proposed intervention in three provinces, namely Madhesh, Karnali and Sudurpachim. The two RPs will work in close coordination to ensure better synergies and best value for money as well as coordinate with UN Women’s other existing partners in these three provinces for greater coherence.
3) Location
The initiative will be rolled out in nine LGUs from three provinces (three in each) namely Karnali (Surkhet) , Madhesh (Janakpur) and Sudurpaschim (Kailali) of Nepal.
4) Budget
The budget range for this proposal is as follows: (1) USD 250,000 – USD 300,000 for Objective 1 (RP A); 82) USD 150,000 – USD 164,000 for Objective 2 (RP B).
