Description

1) Objective

The Helmsley Charitable Trust aspires to improve lives by supporting exceptional non-profits and other mission-aligned organisations in the U.S. and around the world in health, selected place-based initiatives, and education and human services. The conservation program works to resolve environmental threats in ways that ensure the well-being of local communities while sustaining natural resources and protecting biodiversity. Their international program focuses on:

  • Israel: They aim to expand Israel’s world-class healthcare services so that everyone in Israel has access to quality healthcare no matter where they live, strengthen Israel’s contributions to basic scientific, technological, and medical research, and promote global understanding and appreciation of Israel and its people.
  • Vulnerable Children in Sub-Saharan Africa: The Helmsley Charitable Trust funds holistic approaches and programs to help ensure the well-being of vulnerable children and their families in sub-Saharan Africa. They work in remote communities in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, and Zambia where it is difficult to access healthcare and clean drinking water, children are malnourished, and there are few, if any, options for school.
