Description
1) Objective
The Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR KS) announces a Call for Proposals under the Kosovo-Serbia Small Granting Scheme. This initiative aims to empower youth in contributing to genuine normalization through dialogue by supporting cross-border initiatives led by Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The objective is to foster relations and communication between youth from Kosovo and Serbia, encouraging them to make a difference together. The program focuses on sub-granting to CSOs engaged in cross-border cooperation, generating findings for future assistance, and enhancing communication between youth in the Kosovo and Serbia cross-border region.
The selection criteria are divided into two lots:
- Lot 1 focuses on cross-border cooperation in dealing with the past, transitional justice, peacebuilding, human rights, and inter-ethnic community cohesion and dialogue.
- Lot 2 emphasizes counternarratives, oral history, storytelling, media literacy, fighting against disinformation and propaganda, and overcoming stereotypes and prejudice. The evaluation is based on the “best impact and value for money” criteria.
2) Eligibility
Eligible entities include CSOs and local non-governmental organizations active in youth activism, reconciliation, and human rights. Priority is given to entities from border towns in Serbia and Kosovo.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Kosovo and Serbia.
4) Budget
YIHR KS is ready to award 10 grants, each up to 5,000€. The financial support depends on the proposal, with key criteria including strategic policy changes and the reach of the target audience.
5) Application
The application deadline is 31 January 2024. A full proposal must be submitted. All application templates can be downloaded at the given website.
