Description
1) Objective
The Big Give is a crowdfunding platform that allows UK-registered NGOs to create an organisational profile and potentially increase their volume of donations from private individuals and philanthropists. The platform includes several features, such as a charity and project search tool, which allows individuals and donors to browse through hundreds of charity and project profiles and make their donation online; various fundraising campaigns throughout the year (i.e. the ‘match funding campaign’ and ‘christmas challenge’) in which selected philanthropists double the amount of donations made from individuals via Big Give over a certain period of time; or a trustee finder function for charities.
2) Eligibility
Eligible are UK-registered NGOs.
3) Location
Projects can be launched for funding worldwide.
4) Budget
All donations (including Gift Aid) made on the Big Give website are subject to a 4% fee. This fee is charged by their payments processor, Charities Trust. The services, people and technology funded by this fee provides an efficient and secure way to handle the processing of donations and information.
5) Application
NGOs can register online for free and create their organisational profile. The registration process takes approximately one hour to complete. Only UK-registered NGOs are able to register on their online platform.
