Description
1) Objective
The Direct Aid Program (DAP) is part of the Government of Australia’s global social development assistance program. The DAP was created with the purpose of providing assistance in the form of funding aimed directly at communities for activities aimed at sustainable development. The DAP is a flexible small grant program that supports projects with a strong development focus. DAP projects must mainly promote practical and tangible results, generating a direct and immediate impact and must make their achievements visible.
The Embassy will accept projects on all topics; however, special account will be taken of projects focused on the First Nations or gender equality. Projects can address a broad interpretation of these topics. For example, they can focus on humanitarian assistance, gender violence, sexual and reproductive health, menstrual health, health, education or training, economic empowerment, LGBTIQ rights, disappearances, freedom of expression or migration, among others.
2) Eligibility
Eligible applicants are: Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), academic, governmental and research institutions.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Guatemala and Mexico.
4) Budget
The financing amounts per project will be AUD$5,000 up to a maximum of AUD $20,000 (twenty thousand Australian dollars). The Evaluation Committee will be able to determine if there is a project that for extraordinary reasons can receive a higher amount.
5) Application
