Description
1) Objective
The goal of this activity is to advance national efforts to strengthen the caliber of pre- and in-service teacher education and improve Kindergarten through Grade Three foundational and socioemotional skills across the Kingdom of Jordan.
The development hypothesis of the activity is that, if the GOJ capacity is strengthened to implement quality reforms in teacher pre- and in-service education; curriculum and teaching and learning materials; data utilization, policies, and systems; and strategic partnerships, then teachers will be equipped to effectively instruct and improve early grade student foundational and socioemotional learning outcomes.
This activity supports localization objectives by working with and through government systems, leveraging expertise of local partners, and strengthening the capacity of local universities and government entities to sustain early grade education reforms. This activity targets all early grade students, teachers, supervisors, administrators, schools and FDs, through sustained partnerships between universities, the private sector, and relevant ministerial and governmental entities. At the end of the five-year activity, USAID Jordan expects that all Kindergarten through Grade Three students have improved foundational and socioemotional learning outcomes.
