Description
1) Objective
Outcomes: Improved well-being and development of evacuated Ukrainian children through their safe relocation to nurturing small-group homes, supported by trained caregivers and access to comprehensive services tailored to their individual needs.
The implementation of small-group homes will adhere to Polish national standards (outlined in the 2011 Act on Family Support and the Foster Care System), ensuring alignment with both international and EU guidelines for alternative care. The partnership landscape includes close collaboration with local municipalities, social service centers, and other stakeholders responsible for the care and protection of children within Poland’s jurisdiction. While the small-group homes will cater specifically to Ukrainian evacuated children, they will not be classified as Polish residential care facilities. Instead, the initiative will respect the legal frameworks governing the temporary guardianship arrangements, with Ukrainian caregivers retaining their roles as legal and temporary guardians, as defined under Article 27 (4a) of the Law on Assistance to Ukrainian Citizens affected by the armed conflict.
