Description
1) Objective
The mission of PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe) is to enable high-impact scientific discovery and engineering research and development across all disciplines to enhance European competitiveness for the benefit of society. PRACE seeks to realise this mission by offering world class computing and data management resources and services through a peer review process. PRACE also seeks to strengthen the European users of HPC in industry through various initiatives. PRACE has a strong interest in improving energy efficiency of computing systems and reducing their environmental impact.
PRACE is welcoming project proposals requesting computing resources to contribute to the mitigation of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This applies, without being exhaustive, to the following topics: (1) Biomolecular research to understand the mechanisms of the virus infection; (2) Bioinformatics research to understand mutations, evolution, etc.; (3) Bio-simulations to develop therapeutics and/or vaccines; (4) Epidemiologic analysis to understand and forecast the spread of the disease; and (5) Other analyses to understand and mitigate the impact of the pandemic.
2) Eligibility
Researchers from academia, from research institutes, and from commercial organisations (industry) based in Europe are eligible to apply. Awardees in this call commit to publish the outcome of their project as preprint and as soon as possible, to make the data available following open data policy, and to acknowledge the use of the corresponding resources and the PRACE RI.

Actions must take place in Europe.
