The Lantos Foundation for Human Rights and Justice was founded in 2008 to carry on the work of the late Congressman Tom and Annette Lantos of fighting for the human rights and dignity of people in every corner of the world. This commitment to human rights was a shared passion, born out of their joint experience as Holocaust survivors. Its main aims are: (1) fighting for the free exercise of of religion, conscience, and belief for all people around the world; (2) giving voice to global citizens living under brutal regimes that ignore basic rights and use ruthless tactics to maintain power; and (3) ensuring that global corporations be held accountable for their impact on the human rights struggle around the world.
Lantos Foundation Front Line Fund Grant Program awards small grants to assist brave individuals and organizations in their fight against injustices around the world. Preference will be granted to applicants that promote: (1) rule of law; (2) religious freedoms; (3) good governance( transparency, accountability etc) and corporate responsibility.
Their funding goes to Latin America & the Caribbean, Asia, Europe and Africa. They have no focus countries.
