Description
1) Objective
The UsitawiNetwork, the International Service Club for Sustainable Development, aims to make a contribution to the development and implementation of socially and environmentally sustainable forms of economic activity, through its members and organisation. It therefore ultimately aims to help create a balance between economic activity, social development, and ecology. The UsitawiNetwork pursues this purpose by establishing a network of interested individuals as well as by realising and supporting projects in the field of sustainable development.
The network supports projects that (1) promote, spread and put into effect the idea of sustainable management, (2) encourage economic and social development, (3) improve the situation of the biosphere, and (4) promote the economical use of resources.
2) Eligibility
Non-profit organisations are eligible to apply (they often support local organisations).
3) Location
Projects for funding can be launched worldwide. They currently fund projects in Indonesia, India, Mali, Togo, Tanzania, Nepal, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Kenya, and Moldova, among others.
4) Budget
The network prefers to fund small and medium-sizes projects with a project budget below €73,000 (CHF 80,000) and their financial contribution usually ranges between €2,700-€9,000 (CHF 3,000-CHF 10,000).
5) Application
Applications can be sent throughout the year (until end of January for Board meeting in spring; until end of July for Board meeting in autumn) to projekte.zytglogge(a)usitawi.org. Applications should be sent to the network either via email or post .
