Description

1) Objective

The Chrysalis Trust was established in 2009. They are funding poverty reduction and disability projects as well as provision of access to shelter, education, healthcare and water. The Trust supports local projects in the North East of England only, national organisations providing benefit across the UK, as well as, international charities registered in the UK. The trust is able to provide support for both capital projects and core funding with ‘one off’ donations.

Less popular and harder to fund projects are prioritised. The Trust makes grants to registered charities and other organisations that demonstrate their ability to carry out charitable activities which provide public benefit as well.

2) Eligibility

International charities registered in the UK are eligible to apply.

3) Location

They do not have any focus countries and so far have funded projects in Bangladesh, Ghana, Honduras, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Nepal, Romania, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Gambia, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Tanzania, Lebanon.

4) Budget

The Trust makes on average 10-15 grants per year at an amount of GBP1,000-10,000. The Chrysalis Trust is able to provide support for both capital projects and core funding with ‘one off’ donations.

5) Application

Applicants are encouraged to use the application checklist provided on the website to prepare their application. Applications should then be submitted preferably by email to Sarah(a)sarah-evans.net. Submission deadlines are 15th May and 15th December respectively.
