Description
1) Objective
The apoBank Foundation primarily aims to enhance the self-understanding and practice of academic health professions in Germany. It is committed to the economic sustainability and future-proofing of the German healthcare system. Internationally, the foundation focuses on development aid in countries where establishing good working conditions for health professionals and broad medical care is just beginning, offering help for self-help. Additionally, the Foundation supports academic health professionals who are in need and provides humanitarian medical aid, including rapid assistance during natural disasters.
The foundation activities focus on:
- the promotion of public health and public health care
- the promotion of education, public and vocational training
- the promotion of development cooperation
- charitable purposes
2) Eligibility
The apoBank Foundation welcomes project applications from members and customers of apoBank, professional organizations in the healthcare sector, and NGOs or non-profit associations in the medical field. Eligible projects should demonstrate direct practical benefit, uniqueness, high quality, effectiveness, sustainability, potential for networking, and model character.
3) Location
Actions can take place worldwide with a focus on Africa and Asia.
4) Budget

5) Application
Applications must include detailed project information, desired funding amount, timeline, cost and financing plan, and contact details. They are submitted via email to stiftung(a)apobank.de and reviewed three times a year by the project advisory board, which recommends projects for funding to the foundation board. Deadlines for submission are March 15, July 15, and November 15.
