Description
1) Objective
Founded in 2008, the Cassous Foundation is the corporate foundation of the Cassous Group, which supports projects in the following three programmatic areas: (1) environment, (2) inclusion, and (2) development aid. The Foundation favours to support projects that involve employees of the Cassous Group (either through sponsoring or active involvement) and also provides small grant funding for associations and organisations working in development aid. This financial assistance may be in the form of construction activities (schools, clinics, etc.) for the most disadvantaged populations. For their focus areas ‘development aid’, only a small number of between 2 to 5 projects are funded every year.
Thematic Interests are:
- Solidarity for vulnerable people with a view to their integration into the professional environment
- Environmental awareness and its protection in the Aquitaine region
- Development assistance through the realization of constructions such as buildings, dispensaries, wells…
2) Eligibility
Eligible for funding are non-profit organisations and associations with projects that align with the Foundation’s programmatic focus areas.
3) Location
The Foundation provides most of its financial assistance for projects in France (mainly Aquitaine region). Some past grant funding for development aid has gone to initiatives in Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Togo, Morocco, Mali, Madagascar, Senegal, Guatemala, Laos, and India.
4) Budget
Grant sizes are not known.
5) Application
Applications must be in French and can be sent throughout the year, using the standard application form on the Foundation’s website. Completed applications forms should be sent via mail or email. The Foundation Board meets twice a year (June to December) to make final funding decisions.
