Description
1) Objective
This grant funding from the Ella George Children’s Foundation (EGCF) is for supporting initiatives and programs that enhance the lives of children with positive and measurable outcomes. EGCF believes, that in order to advance the well-being of underserved children, it is fundamental to strengthen both educational access and the quality of resources at various ages of development. EGCF does not review proposals outside of its core program area of Education and Literacy.
2) Eligibility
Eligible are U.S. based organisations running projects domestically and internationally, with a current focus on developing world countries. They consider project partnerships only with 501(c)(3) U.S. based organisations working in the U.S and internationally.
3) Location
They fund projects in developing countries worldwide.
4) Budget
EGCF awards limited grants in the range of $1,000-$15,000.
5) Application
They follow a two-stage application process: letter of inquiry and full proposal. Online submissions for the LOI are preferred to regular mail. The purpose of the LOI is to determine if an organisation and its project fit within EGCF’s guidelines before the applicant expends resources to develop a full proposal. The LOI should include the following: (1) Employer Identification Number to verify non-profit status (all organisations, whether working domestically or abroad, must be a US 501(c)(3) organisation); (2) purpose and history of organisation; (3) summary goals and objectives of the project for which funding is being sought; (4) current status of the project; (5) project budget with amount requested. There are no formal deadlines to apply for funding. EGCF accepts applications on an ongoing basis. However, grants are generally approved two times per year: in May and October.
