Description
1) Objective
KickStart International is a non-profit social enterprise with a mission to lift millions of people out of poverty quickly, cost-effectively and sustainably. KickStart’s mission is to lift millions of people in Africa out of poverty, quickly, cost-effectively and sustainably by enabling them to make more money. To this end, KickStart designs and promotes very low-cost, high quality irrigation pumps, enabling poor farmers to significantly increase yields, incomes and provide a real path out of poverty.
Their model is to mass-produce the tools for large-scale distribution, optimise a private sector supply chain and monitor the impact in order to constantly improve the development of new technologies. To ensure that all farmers can afford access, KickStart has developed two farmer friendly financing options.
