Description
1) Objective
The Peter Friedhofen Brother Foundation is a Christian charity organisation with the mission to provide support to the sick and needy in Switzerland and also abroad. Peter Friedhofen wanted to make the presence of God in the world of the 19th century experienced. It was to follow his request, Christ in community, to love people in reality and so to make perceptible to the people the good news of God’s love. The Foundation works together with governmental and non-governmental organisations with whom common principles are being shared.
The Foundation accepts funding requests for the support of individuals in need, as well as (co-)financing of projects and services provided by charity organisations. Focus areas include: (1) children & youth; (2) disability; (3) education; (4) food security; (5) health and (6) social inclusion.
2) Eligibility
The Foundation supports both individuals and non-governmental organisations with whom common principles are being shared.
3) Location
They operate worldwide.
4) Budget
Funds may be used for (1) direct project costs, (2) personnel and in-kind costs of full-time employees, (3) allowance for special expenditures and training costs for volunteers, and (4) investments in goods and assets. Applicant organisations are required to contribute a certain share of project financing with their own means. The amount of co-funding required will depend on the financial capacities of each organisation. The Foundation does not look for long-term partnerships with organisations but rather provides temporary or project-related support to organisations, only for a limited amount of time.
5) Application
The application form available in German can be downloaded from the website and must be sent to the Foundation via e-mail. There are no deadlines.
