Since 1996, Stiftung RTL – We help children eV has been helping children in need of care in Germany and around the world. In the awareness of the social responsibility of a successful media company, the management at that time decided to put the transmitter’s existing charitable commitment on a stable footing. The goal is to provide sustained support for the most vulnerable in society, the children – both in Germany and abroad.
In the past they have funded projects like: health projects (eye health) for children and adults, construction of therapy rooms for disabled children, support for abused children and their families, education projects for children in Africa, etc.
Eligible applicants are NGOs.
Actions can take place across the globe.
There are no minimum and maximum grant amounts.
The Foundation offers funding at the beginning of each year. It identifies the projects and provides funds from the collected funds from the RTL donation marathon of the same year. The application form is available for download on the Foundation’s website throughout the year. It contains the following sections: (1) details of the project (objectives, budget, start and end date, activities; (2) applicant details; and (3) information about the local implementing partner. The following documents need to be attached: (1) description of the project (max. 4 A4 pages); (2) project financing (possibly including cost estimate or similar); (3) current statutes of the applicant and, if applicable, of the umbrella organisation; (4) media (i.e. photos) to document the project needs/previous project work. More attachments are required for grants above €10,000.
