Description
1) Objective
The politically and denominationally neutral Foundation was established in 2006. Sahee funds projects aiming at improving the living conditions of underprivileged people in Swaziland and in Peru in a sustainable way. Sahee considers applications for funding of projects, subject to availability of funds, under the following conditions:
- (1) applicants should be local organisations (e.g. NGOs) and local groups in collaboration with a local organisations
- (2) location of projects and domicile of applicants should be in Swaziland and Peru
- (3) projects should aim at a sustainable improvement of living conditions of underprivileged people
- (4) the project should comply with the aims of sahee (agriculture, health, education, environment) and have a limited duration
Around 50% of their projects support education, 19% environment, 15% agriculture, 12% income generation and 4% health.
2) Eligibility
Local organisations (e.g., NGOs) and local groups in collaboration with a local organisation are eligible.
3) Location
They fund organisations working in Peru and Eswatini.
4) Budget
They fund 40-50 projects per year with an average annual grant budget of $500,000-$600,000 (average grant per year $10,000).
5) Application
Applications are welcome at any time. As a first step, please only send a short description of the organisation and project to be funded (1-2 pages). If this proposal corresponds with the geographic and thematic focus of sahee, the proposal will be presented to the board. Thereafter, sahee will inform the applicant of the next steps and send the application forms to you. The sahee board evaluates proposals around four times per year.
