Greener Futures: Promoting Sustainable Agribusiness and Climate-Smart Agriculture in Zimbabwe

1) Objective

The global objective of this call for proposals is: to support greener and sustainable agri-business and climate resilience in Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector. The specific objectives of this call for proposals are:

• To promote climate-resilient agriculture and sustainable value chains by fostering the adoption of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices, enhancing market linkages, and developing inclusive agri-business hubs that empower smallholder farmers, especially women and youth.
• To “green” agricultural production processes by integrating renewable energy and upgrading infrastructure / equipment to improve the efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness of agri-business hubs, with a focus on drought-resistant crops and climate adaptation.

2) Eligibility

In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must: (1) be a legal person and (2) be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation and (3) be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.

3) Location

Actions can take place in Zimbabwe.

4) Budget

The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €15,000,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum €3,750,000 and maximum €5,000,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum (60%) and maximum (90%) percentage of total eligible costs of the action.

5) Application

The concept note together with the declaration by the lead applicant must be submitted online via PROSPECT. The deadline for the submission is 17 February 2025.
