Description
1) Objective
Rabo Foundation’s objective is to support cooperative and member based organisations in selected countries to achieve sustainable rural economic development. Their focus is on access to finance and small producer support. They support their partner organisations with loans, guarantees and/or technical assistance. Grants can only be considered if they contribute to institutional development and capacity building. An organisation should be able to cover its costs ultimately without grants and subsidies. If a project is not financially self sustainable at the start, a set of financial projections (profit and loss statement, balance sheet) have to indicate financial sustainability within 3-5 years.
They support:
- Funding for farmers’ organizations
- Building towards stronger, more professional organizations
- Technological innovation
- Connecting organizations to create a sustainable value chain
- Adapting to climate change
- Financial inclusion
