Description

1) Objective

Japan Water Forum (JWF) serves as a contact point for exchange and cooperation among water stakeholders in Japan and abroad, such as UN agencies, international organizations, development banks, governments, private companies, researchers, and NGOs. Based on this network, JWF promotes an understanding of the fundamental impact of water on everyone’s lives, leading to decisive action to address the water issues on the planet for a world where everyone enjoys the lasting benefits and values of safe water.

The Kyoto World Water Grand Prize was created to honor a distinguished organization involved in grass-roots activities related to solving water problems in developing countries. It also aims to improve the quality of grass-roots activities and make the importance of such activities known throughout the world.

2) Eligibility

Eligible is any non-profit organization based in a developing country, which is involved in grass-roots activities aimed at solving water problems through measures consistent with local cultures.

3) Location

Actions must take place in a developing country.

4) Budget

The winner of the prize will receive 2,000,000 JPY (Approximately 14,000 USD, depending on fluctuating exchange rates).

5) Application

The deadline for submission is 2:59 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023 (UTC).Applications shall be submitted online. The forms must be filled out in English. Forms or languages other than the designated ones will not be accepted. Application forms submitted for entry will not be returned.
