Description
1) Objective
Provision of Child protection services remain a key priority to the operation. The project shall support individual case management for asylum seekers and refugee children by applying the best interest procedure outlined in the UNHCR Best Interests Procedure or commonly known as case management and ensuring systematic implementation of Best Interests Assessments (BIAs) and Best Interests Determinations (BIDs) for at-risk children. The prospective partner shall operate Safe spaces for children, implement alternative care arrangements for unaccompanied children and those at risk, strengthen community-based child protection systems and process by working with community networks, children and other actors.
The project shall also work towards mainstreaming child protection in other sectors, including in WASH, education and livelihoods, while strengthening and advocating for increased integration of support for refugee children in government child protection systems. The prospective partner shall also work with UNHCR to coordinate the implementation of sub-sector based child protection activities and engagement with other relevant child protection actors including the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), Department of Refugee Services, Social Welfare, Community Development, Police Gender and Children Desk, Justice, Immigration, Health and other relevant actors working in the refugee camp, or out of the camp or within the district, providing services for refugees and asylum seekers from the project location.
