Description

1) Objective

The overall objective of the Trust Fund is to provide a coherent and reinforced aid response to the Syrian crisis on a regional scale. The programmes will help Syrian refugees and overstretched host communities in Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan and Iraq through the provision of basic education and child protection, better access to healthcare, improved water and waste-water infrastructure, as well as support to resilience, economic opportunities and social inclusion.

Key priorities of the EU Regional Trust Fund in response to the Syrian Crisis are: (1) promoting educational, protection and engagement opportunities for children and young people in line with the No Lost Generation initiative; (2) reduce the pressure on countries hosting refugees by investing in livelihoods and social cohesion and supporting them in providing access to jobs and education that will benefit both refugees and host communities; and (3) in addition, the Trust Fund now supports other important development sectors, including municipal services and infrastructure in most affected host communities, access to health care, and higher education.

2) Eligibility

Non-profit organisations are eligible.

3) Location

Eligible countries are Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt.

4) Budget

There are no fixed ceilings. However, due to the need to minimize contract management and to maximize coherence and synergies, they are looking for large multi-partner, multi-country, and multi-year actions. The co-financing rate may vary, and co-financing constitutes an element of added value for any proposal. Project duration should be between 24 and 54 months.

5) Application

Aid organisations interested in applying for funding are advised to first discuss their project ideas with the EU Delegations on the ground and relevant country authorities. The Trust Fund cannot commit to evaluate unsolicited concept notes or proposals. Interested organisations are invited to consult the Trust Fund strategic priorities, project selection criteria, and Q&A for Trust Fund partners. There are no submission deadlines.
