The objective of the “Advancing Media Literacy through Armenian Civil Society Actors” project, implemented by People in Need Armenia in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, is to enhance media literacy among Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the Lori region of the Republic of Armenia (RA). Through tailored capacity-building programs and sub-grants, the project aims to empower CSOs and community members to recognize and combat fake news, misinformation, and manipulations. By equipping participants with essential skills and knowledge, the project seeks to foster critical thinking, promote transparency, and strengthen democratic values within Armenian society, ultimately contributing to a better informed and more critically thinking population.
- Component/Phase 1: Development and strengthening of media and information literacy capacities of 5 selected CSOs (two representatives from each) through tailored capacity building program.
- Component/Phase 2: Sub-grants to 3 CSO-led media and information literacy initiatives to improve the critical thinking, and fact-checking skills of at least 180 youth, women and the general population including the remote and underpopulated settlements in Lori marz of the RA.
2) Eligibility
Only registered CSOs operating in the Lori region of Armenia for 2-5 years are eligible to apply.
