Description
1) Objective
The initiative aims to model sustainable Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) service delivery in hospitals and senior high schools across Ghana. This project, under the Government of Ghana-UNICEF joint country program for 2023-2027, seeks to improve WASH infrastructure and services, enhance infection prevention and control (IPC), and foster climate-resilient practices. The efforts will focus on strengthening technical capacity, assuring quality in WASH operations, supporting infrastructure planning, and empowering youth engagement in climate and hygiene initiatives.
2) Eligibility
Applicants should demonstrate the capacity to develop partnerships or business models for sustained WASH/IPC services and should be aligned with community practices towards accessibility and climate neutrality. Preference will be given to entities with experience working with the UN and those that can contribute additional resources to the project.
3) Location
The project is based in Ghana, specifically targeting the Upper East, Upper West, Ashanti, Savannah, Northern, Oti, and Western regions.
4) Budget
The budget allocated for this partnership is approximately $1,000,000 USD, with exchange rates considered (1 USD = GHS 11.73).
5) Application
The deadline for applications is November 23, 2023. Notifications of the results will be announced on December 14, 2023, with the project starting on January 31, 2024, and concluding on December 31, 2024.
