Description
1) Objective
The NGO Financial Management Capacity Building program, under the Department of State’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL), focuses on enhancing the sustainability and resilience of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) involved in democracy and human rights work globally.
This initiative aims to improve NGOs’ financial, administrative, and program management capacities, particularly in challenging or sensitive environments. The program seeks to empower these organizations to be more effective and enduring in their efforts to promote democracy and human rights, ensuring their impact and reach in various global contexts.
2) Eligibility
Eligible applicants include U.S.-based and foreign-based non-profit organizations/NGOs, public international organizations, private, public, or state institutions of higher education, and for-profit organizations or businesses. DRL generally prefers to work with non-profit entities but may consider for-profit entities when appropriate.
3) Location
Actions can take place worldwide.
4) Budget
The funding opportunity has both an award ceiling and floor of $1,000,000. There is no requirement for cost sharing or matching.
5) Application
Interested organizations should submit applications by March 07, 2024. The application should detail how the project will enhance the financial, administrative, and program management capacities of NGOs working in the field of democracy and human rights. Applicants must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria and align their proposals with the program’s objectives of promoting NGO sustainability and resilience in difficult or sensitive environments.
