Description
1) Objective
Slovak Challenge Fund (SCF) aims to facilitate transfer of Slovak know-how and innovative solutions that address development challenges in Moldova and North Macedonia. Specifically, SCF aims to identify solutions that deliver improvement and value, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products; support solutions that assure viability in local conditions, long-term sustainability, and potential for scale-up, and promote solutions to share knowledge and tackle development challenges in other countries
Development Challenges are:
- Natural Resources – Supporting the sustainable use of natural resources through improved water or waste management and/or increased energy efficiency and clean energy utilization.
- Agriculture – Increasing the productivity, partnerships, access to markets and competitiveness of organic agriculture actors like farmers and producers.
- Good Governance – Introducing and/or improving e-governance and open data use in public sector management and delivery.
- Resilient Society – Supporting the resilience of the societies as a reflection on the Covid 19 pandemic, the crisis in Ukraine, including the energy crisis.
2) Eligibility
The eligible applicants are only Slovak private sector entities. The applicants are required to engage local partners to assure viability in local conditions, and to promote sustainability and scalability of the solution.
3) Location
Actions must take place in North Macedonia or the Republic of Moldova.
4) Budget
Ranging between US$20,000 and US$40,000, the applicants provide co-funding of at least 20% of the total cost of the project.
5) Application
The application deadline is 10 December 2022. The application should be sent to procurement.irh@undp.org by Saturday 10 December, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. CET.
