Description

1) Objective

The “Promotion of Adolescent Healthy Lifestyles” project, initiated by UNICEF Thailand, aims to address the rising issue of childhood overweight and obesity in urban areas, particularly in Bangkok. With a focus on adolescents, the project seeks to provide equitable access to information and opportunities that support healthy eating, physical activity, and mental health. Targeting at least 40,000 adolescents, the initiative will involve families, educational settings, health facilities, and communities to foster an environment conducive to healthy habits. The project emphasizes youth empowerment, community engagement, and collaboration among various stakeholders to promote overall well-being and healthy lifestyles among adolescents.

2) Eligibility

Civil society organizations with experience in delivering programs related to healthy lifestyles, a good track record of collaboration with multi-sectoral stakeholders, and direct experience working with adolescents are eligible to apply.

3) Location

The project is focused on Thailand, specifically in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area, and may extend to the Deep South of Thailand.

4) Budget

The indicative budget for the project is 200,000$. Cost-effectiveness is a key criterion in the selection process.

5) Application

The application deadline is January 12, 2024. Selection criteria include sector expertise and experience (30%), clarity of activities and expected results (15%), local experience and presence (10%), project management (20%), experience working with UN (5%), and cost-effectiveness (20%). Interested organizations should submit their concept notes through the UN Partner Portal, ensuring relevance and completeness, and demonstrating their ability to carry out programmatic activities in Thai language across various districts in Bangkok. Notification of results will be on January 23, 2024, with the project starting on March 1, 2024, and ending on September 30, 2025.
