Proposals for Human Rights Project

Description

1) Objective

The Embassy of Switzerland in Ankara announces a call for project proposals for 2024 in the field of human rights. The focus is on strengthening human rights and civil society in Türkiye, with particular interest in projects related to Women’s Rights and Gender Equality, Children’s Rights and Wellbeing, Freedom of Expression and Democracy, and Promotion of Inter-Religious or Inter-Cultural Dialogue. The projects should aim for long-term transformative impact, especially in remote or rural areas. Projects on migration, including migrant and refugee rights, are excluded from this call.

2) Eligibility

Priority will be given to local associations and NGOs in Türkiye with in-depth knowledge of Turkish society. The Embassy encourages applications from organizations capable of implementing impactful projects in the specified fields.

3) Location

Actions must take place in Turkey.

4) Budget

The Embassy’s funding for each project will amount to a maximum of 150,000 Turkish Lira (app. €4,500). The financial support can fund ongoing activities or new projects, which need to be completed by November 2024.

5) Application

Proposals must be submitted by January 31, 2024, at 23:59 (Türkiye time) to ank.projectsankara@eda.admin.ch. Applications should include a one-pager description and a separate detailed budget proposal. The one-pager must answer five key questions about the project’s theme, need, implementing organization, location, timeframe, and budget. Additional material may be provided but is not mandatory. Proposals can be submitted in English, Turkish, French, or German. Incomplete applications or those missing the one-pager and budget proposal will be immediately excluded. The Embassy may contact applicants for further details, but this does not guarantee selection.
