Description
1) Objective
UNHCR Thailand Multi-Country Office calls for an expression of interest from organizations for partnership in implementing activities in 2025 – 2026 across the two outcome areas:
- Access to registration and documentation – Stateless persons have access to civil registration and status documentation.
- Local integration and other local solutions – Potential for integration of stateless persons is realized.
Priority interventions in support of these two outcome areas include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting stateless persons and persons in need of legal assistance, and other forms of support to prepare and process their applications for nationality, permanent residency and legal status with the Royal Thai Government, including the logistical aspects related to these efforts
- Identifying and documenting challenges in accessing nationality, permanent residency and civil registration documentation.
- Capacity building of community support networks, civil society organisations and government officials in relation to efficient and high-quality implementation of nationality and civil registration procedures, including the logistical aspects related to these efforts Local integration and other local solutions
- Strengthening and empowering community-based support for stateless persons and those at risk of statelessness, in relation to access to rights, entitlements and nationality and civil registration procedures including supporting the creation of stateless-led organization(s)
- Awareness raising on the causes of statelessness, importance of civil registration documentation, and pathways to nationality, permanent residency and legal status/amongst affected stateless communities.
- Advocacy meetings with relevant stakeholders, including government representatives at the local level.
2) Eligibility
Eligible are NGOs with experience in the sector and country.
3) Location
The project is focused on Thailand.
4) Budget
The indicative budget for the project is 300,000$.
5) Application
The application deadline is 31 October 2024. A concept note must be submitted via the online application portal.
