Description
1) Objective
The mission of The Hirair and Anna Hovnanian Foundation is to provide funding for charitable, educational, religious, scientific, literary or testing for public safety purposes as described under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 with a primary focus on providing such funding so as to assist Armenian communities world-wide by gifts, grants, contributions and program-related investments.
Through their Fellowships, they provide unique opportunities for talented Armenians to showcase their expertise at renowned international platforms, including competitions, exhibitions, festivals, and scientific conferences. By nurturing and supporting Armenian talents, innovators, entrepreneurs, thinkers, and creators, we believe in catalyzing not only their personal growth but also contributing to the broader development of Armenia. The focus of these grants is specifically on individuals who aim to showcase their expertise by presenting their works and creations at competitions, exhibitions, conferences, seminars, or other notable forums, providing a valuable opportunity for them to gain international recognition and contribute globally in their respective fields. An invitation to join a conference/seminar or other event is not sufficient, unless you are a speaker or a presenter.
2) Eligibility
Fellowship grants are available to students and non-students alike, including professors, non-profit leaders, artists, athletes, academics, scientists, public health professionals and other individuals who have been invited as speakers, presenters or competitors in academic, educational, cultural and athletic events.
3) Location
Funding is provided to Armenian communities worldwide.
4) Budget
The range of fellowship amounts is wide, with the average size of the grant ranging from a few hundred dollars up to a maximum of $20,000.
5) Application
The application forms can be downloaded from their website. There is no deadline per se for submitting an application for a fellowship grant. Applications are accepted all year long and reviewed on a rolling basis as they are received. However, they will only be considered if the event is at least 60 days from the date a completed application is received by the Foundation. If the 60-day advance requirement is not met, applications will be considered ineligible.
